Trigger Point Therapy

Trigger Point Therapy

Trigger point therapy is a focused soft-tissue technique used to address specific areas of muscular tension, tenderness and restricted movement.

Trigger points are sensitive areas within muscle tissue that may contribute to local discomfort or refer sensations to other areas of the body. Treatment involves applying controlled pressure to these areas to help reduce tension and improve the mobility of the surrounding tissue.

At Dynamic Therapy, trigger point therapy is generally used as part of a broader treatment rather than as a stand-alone technique. Your therapist considers the affected area, surrounding muscles and your overall movement pattern before deciding where and how the technique should be applied.

Trigger point work can be particularly useful within Sports Massage treatments, where the aim is to address areas of muscular restriction, support recovery and help restore comfortable movement.
